A DISAPPEARANCE MEASURED IN MINUTES
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Saturday night, Jan. 31, when family members dropped her off at her home after dinner, according to reports and law enforcement briefings. A timeline released this week shows the garage door opening at 9:48 p.m. and closing at 9:50 p.m. — two minutes that, at the time, likely meant little to anyone involved.
Then the digital breadcrumbs begin.
At 1:47 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, the home’s doorbell camera disconnected. At 2:12 a.m., software detected a person at the camera — but investigators said there is no stored video of that detection because the system did not have a subscription that saves clips. At 2:28 a.m., the pacemaker application linked to Nancy’s phone showed a disconnect.
Late Sunday morning, the family checked on her. At 12:03 p.m., a 911 call was placed; patrol arrived at 12:15 p.m. By the time detectives began sealing off areas of the home, the case had shifted from “Where did she go?” to “Who was here?”
