V. An Enduring Memory
Today, the name of Lance Corporal Alvin Cullins is permanently carved into Panel 26E, Line 37 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Yet, behind the etched black granite lies the real human memory: a young man from Florida who stood tall in a Marine uniform, took on a burden far greater than his years, and gave everything he had thousands of miles away from home.
His life remains a poignant reminder of the true human cost of conflict—not measured merely in operational reports or tactical dates, but in the lost tomorrows of nineteen-year-old boys who never made it back.
