After hours of walking, the trees finally parted, exposing a majestic, roaring waterfall cascading down a dark cliffside—exactly as drawn on the old map.
Part 4: The Secret Cavern
Leo cautiously moved along the narrow ledge behind the icy waterfall. Tucked behind the curtain of water was a hidden entrance to a dark, damp cavern. Using his flashlight, he stepped inside, the echoing sound of droplets filling the silence. Deep within the cave, sitting atop a flat stone pedestal, was a small metal box decorated with family symbols. His heart pounded in his chest as he approached the pedestal and slowly opened the box, revealing the shimmering golden pocket watch resting on velvet fabric.
