Even at the funeral, I could barely stand. Legs were giving me weak.
I felt empty.
It’s been a few weeks. I had just started eating a little again.
I would spend the days sitting in Owen’s room looking at his stuff.
Mrs Dilmore called me yesterday. She was Owen’s math teacher. He adored her and loved her class.
He said to me :
“Good afternoon. I don’t know how to explain this.. but i just found an envelope in my desk drawer. It’s from Owen… this is for you ma’am. Please come to the school immediately. “
Grabbed my jacket and drove to school
Mrs Dilmore was pale. With trembling hands, he stretched out the envelope to me and said:
“I don’t know how it ended up there. Found this in my desk drawer today.. “
Tears welled up in my eyes when I picked up the envelope. In it, with my son’s handwriting, were written the words: “For Mom.”
