At 24 years old I married a man who was fifty years older than me. Everyone around me thought I had only married him for his money. I myself was convinced that, after his death, his entire fortune would become mine. But a year later, my husband died and, when his lawyer called me, I immediately went to the notary. But there they told me something that almost caused my legs to fail… 😨

I was 24 years old when I got married.

My husband was 74 years old.

There was

a fifty-year difference between us and, of course, the people around us constantly talked about our marriage.

Some said openly:

— She married him just for his money.

Some felt sorry for my husband.

And others were simply waiting for me to become their only heir.

I tried not to pay attention to other people’s words.

My husband was a very rich man.

He had a huge house, several apartments, a piece of land on the outskirts of the city and enough money in his bank accounts.

He never hid the

fact that he had a considerable fortune.

But one day he told me:

— Money doesn’t make a person happy. The most important thing is to be able to do something useful while you still can.

At that moment, I didn’t give much importance to his words.

We only lived together for a year.

And then one morning, I woke up and realized I wasn’t there anymore.

My husband had died in his sleep.

For me, his death was completely unexpected.

I was devastated, but deep down I had already begun

to think about the future.

Now his entire fortune would become mine.

Or at least that’s what I believed.

A few days after the funeral, his lawyer called me.
